O you who observe all things with your eye that never sleeps, who afford us such saving lessons in your desire to grant mercy to all who seek it: We give you thanks for raising us from bed and sleep to enjoy the light of another day. Now, as we continue to walk with your Son through the week of his passion and death, we beseech you to rekindle our fervor and guide our thinking, that we may grasp the message of these awesome mysteries. Like the woman who anointed the feet of your Son with precious oil of myrrh, enable us, also, to see ourselves as you see us. Like the kernel of wheat that must die to produce a rich harvest, enable us, also, to let go of our willfulness. And, while the light of your grace is still with us, enable us to see and to believe in that light, that we may become sons and daughters of light.
By the grace and mercy and love for us of your only Son, with whom you are blest, together with your all-holy, good, and life-giving Spirit: now and forever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
