Dear Parents,
The Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas is hosting the annual "St. Philotheia" Summer Camp for children aged between 7 and 14, starting July 7, 2018 for boys, and July 14 for girls. The camp will be held at the Faith and Heritage Center in Allegan, Michigan (4160 102nd Ave.) with the support of the volunteers of Ss. Constantine and Helen Cathedral of Chicago.
St. Philoteia’s Summer Camp goal is to familiarize the little ones with the Orthodox Christian faith and the traditional Romanian culture along with activities carried out in the natural environment of the property. The program includes, among other things, attendance at the religious services, children's orthodox catechism, outdoor activities and games, music classes, group discussions, sports activities, hiking.
The two weeks Summer Camp program is as follows:
-Boys: July 7-14.
-Girls: July 14-21.
Important:
• Parents' participation at the camp is not allowed for logistical reasons.
• For each child, a written recommendation (attached to the application or by email) of the local priest with whom the family is in a spiritual connection is required.
• Parents can get acquainted with the camp staff and visit the site on the first and last day of the camp.
• To support camp expenses, the suggested donation is $ 200 / children.
