The National feast day of Romania was celebrated by Romanian children at the Guardian Angel School of Chicago. Friday, December the 1st, His Eminence Metropolitan Nicolae participated in the program especially organized by the children enrolled in the Romanian language courses at the Guardian Angel School.
Under the guidance of the two Romanian language teachers, Preoteasa Sanda Cărbune and Mrs. Iulia Drăguș, the children of Ss. Constantine and Helen Cathedral in Chicago interpreted the Romanian national anthem, carols, poems, and patriotic Romanian songs. The school’s children, principle, and teachers were all present at the Romanian children’s program.
The Guardian Angel School is an Orthodox Christian School attached to the Greek parish, Saint John the Baptist in Chicago and has a complete educational program for pre-school up to the sixth grade. Beginning this school year, two Romanian teachers offer Romanian language classes to the 27 Romanian children enrolled in the school.
His Eminence thanked the children, teachers and the entire teaching staff for the special reception offered to the Romanian children and for accommodating Romanian language classes.
