The Romanian Orthodox Church „St. Emperors Constantine and Helen” in Caracas, Venezuela, stands out for its continuous and dedicated activity in support of the community, under the guidance of Father Antonio Garcia and the volunteers actively involved in parish life. Every month, the parish demonstrates a deep commitment to love and helping others, carrying out numerous charity projects and activities for youth that bring significant changes to the lives of those in need.
One of the most appreciated projects run by the parish is Alimentos de Amor (Food of Love), which is an ongoing effort that directly supports the most vulnerable members of the community. Through this project, the Church „St. Emperors Constantine and Helena” provides food aid to those in difficulty, spreading not only nourishment but also hope, kindness, and solidarity. This charitable work is strongly supported by Father Antonio and the team of volunteers, who are always willing to get involved with open hearts, showing an exemplary Christian love.
Recently, another action took place as part of this project, and thanks are given to all those who contributed and made this wonderful work possible. As Saint Confessor Dumitru Stăniloae said, “Saints give infinite value to the poorest, for in His Incarnation, Christ gave this infinite value to all men. The saints see Christ in every person.” These words serve as a guide for every charity activity carried out by the Romanian Orthodox Church in Caracas.
Another touching moment was the offering of toys to the children in the Corralito community, El Hatillo Municipality, a gesture that brought smiles to the faces of the little ones. Thanks are also given to all those who contributed to making this action possible, including the Venezuelan-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, Fundación Coromotana, and Tijeraso VZLA. As the Gospel teaches us, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” (Matthew 18:3-5).
In addition to these charity projects, the Church „St. Emperors Constantine and Helena” is also dedicated to youth activities, offering them opportunities for spiritual, educational, and social development. The young people of the parish benefit from training programs and support that help them strengthen their faith and grow within the Orthodox community.
This intense charitable and spiritual care activity from Father Antonio Garcia and the volunteers is a living example of Christian commitment and love for one’s neighbor. The Romanian Orthodox Church in Caracas continues to be a pillar of hope and support in the community, offering not just food for the body but also nourishment for the soul.
As we prepare for the Holy Easter celebrations, let us not forget that the Church „St. Emperors Constantine and Helen” in Caracas is a place of love and communion, where every gesture of help is a true confession of Orthodox faith. We continue to pray for all those who make this wonderful work possible and for all those who benefit from the help offered. May God bless this activity and make it grow more and more each day!
Father Antonio Garcia
